James is the Director of Programmes, Asia-Pacific of The College of Law Australia where he is responsible for the academic oversight of the programs provided by the College in the Asia-Pacific region. James is also a Consultant at Hesketh Henry, a commercial law firm headquartered in Auckland, New Zealand and advises on various international and corporate clients on cross-border transactions. Prior to these roles, James worked as a lawyer at the New Zealand’s Financial Markets Authority, where his role included advising on the development and implementation of new financial markets (securities) law, assessing applications for licences, advising on the use of regulatory powers and engaging with market participants, including financial advisers, brokers, licence applicants and issuers.
James is an Officer of the Inter-Pacific Bar Association (IPBA), where he serves as the Vice-Chair of the Publications Committee, and is also the Australian Regional Governor for the International Association of Korean Lawyers (IAKL)
James graduated from the University of Auckland with BA/LLB, MA (Hons), LLM (Hons) and is admitted to practice in New Zealand and Australia (New South Wales).
