Amicus Legal Consultants was selected for the TI (Berlin) project to help TI National Chapters in Cote d’Ivoire, Rwanda, Senegal, South Africa and Tunisia to build deeper engagement with African governments on their commitments against corruption to bring about enhanced implementation of the AUCPCC obligations and consider ways of enhancing their advocacy activities through effective media campaigns (building media strategies, social media and modern media campaigns/counter-narrative for fake news), educating and engaging the youth on anti-corruption, engagement with the business sector and AML gatekeepers, conducting open search investigations (OSINT), engagement with criminal justice agencies (prosecutors and judges) and addressing political party funding.
Amicus, together with its partners, Jim Preen (crisis communication), James Jung (International Relations & Development at the College of Law, Australia) and Sunil Patel (architect of ‘Solve’ system) held 2 regional workshops using its ‘Solve: Immersive’ . The immersive scenario-based exercise was designed to facilitate a practical advocacy strategy design and problem-solving approach.
Following the regional workshops, the Amicus team held further discussions with the national Chapters which led to more detailed national training workshops for each of the Chapters that focussed on their specific challenges and concerns.
